World No. 2 and defending Champion Novak Djokovic has defeated Italy’s Jannik Sinner 6-3 6-4 7-6 to book a place in Sunday’s finals.

Djokovic who was playing a record 46th Grand Slam semi finals started the game against Sinner, who was playing in his first Grand Slam semi finals in Superb fashion, breaking his young opponent’s serve early on in the first set, to set the tempo for the match.

There would not be a repeat of last year’s quarter finals where Sinner was 2 set to love up before Djokovic eventually dug in to win the match in a five set thriller.

The Serbian would not look back from that point on as he closed out the first set 6-3.
Jannik proved more resilient in the second set but was never going to trouble a rampant Djokovic who broke his serve once again in the second set to claim the set 6-4.
