Edo State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Adaze Aguele-Kalu, has called for collaboration to build a stronger future for the residents of the state. She said this while speaking with her staff on assumption of office in Benin City, stressing the need for concerted efforts to achieve the goals and objectives of the government.
She disclosed that Governor Godwin Obaseki had meticulously selected each commissioner as part of the “finishing team,” to focus on capacity building and delivering of tangible results.

While recognizing the importance of providing a conducive work environment, Aguele-Kalu stated that Governor Obaseki has taken measures to ensure the comfort and provision of necessary resources for civil and public servants to work effectively and efficiently. She encouraged the staff to be well-prepared, think ahead, and complete tasks promptly, explaining that the ultimate goal is to promote social and economic well-being of the people of Edo State.

Adaze Aguele-Kalu emphasized the importance of working to reflect collective abilities and contributing to the overarching agenda. She expressed her unwavering commitment to meeting targets and driving progress, while underscoring the relevance of unity and collaboration in achieving the overall MEGA agenda of the state.

The commissioner further reminded the staff that they represent the state, stressing the need for collaboration to effectively serve the people. She commended Governor Obaseki for approving the 13th-month salary and called on everyone to put in additional efforts in their respective roles.

She further advocated for the launch of a comprehensive 30-year plan, considering its significance for the future development of the state.

Providing insights into the ministry’s efforts, the Director of Planning, Ebuwa Odeh, elaborated on how the 30-year development plan was secured, highlighting the importance of relying on the economic plan while awaiting the physical planning phase. According to her, this approach ensures that progress continues and aligns with the long-term vision for Edo State.
