Ashley Young has agreed to join Everton after leaving Aston Villa as a free agent this summer. The England international is set to undergo a medical on Tuesday ahead of the move, BBC reports.

Saudi clubs were reportedly in pursuit of the 38-year-old, who was also in talks with Luton, one of the newly promoted clubs in the English Top flight. The former Manchester United star was kin on remaining in the Premier League, so the move to Goodison Park isn’t a surprise to many. He signed for Aston Villa on 17th June 2021, as a free agent from Serie A side Inter Milan after winning the Scudetto. He would be Everton’s first signing under manager Sean Dyche.

Under Frank Lampard, the club was threatened by relegation, which led to his sack and subsequent appointment of Sean Dyche in January. Sean was able to guide the club to Premier League survival on the final day of the season.
