Johnny Drille recently revealed that he has been married for over a year. He announced his marriage to Rima Tahini Ighodaro through his official social media accounts.

The singer who released a new song “The Best Part”, which he used to celebrate his wife’s birthday anniversary, described Rima as his best part while appreciating her for supporting him for the time they have been together. He also used the video for the song to show her off to the world as she is the main vixen, and to also show the couple’s affectionate moments over the years. The couple had been together for over four years before getting married.

Background

Rima isn’t of Nigerian descent. She has a mixed ethnicity. She was born to a Lebanese father and a Sierra Leonean mother. She was born in the year the Sierra Leonean Civil War broke out and her family later had to leave the country for safety and move to different countries. This enabled her to fluently speak more than four different languages including English.

Educational background

Rima graduated at the African Leadership Academy in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2012 and was awarded the Allan Grey Gold Prize for Excellence in Entrepreneurship. Also, she holds a degree in Business and Economics from Brandeis University, Massachusetts, where she graduated with top honours (Suma Cum Laude) in 2016.

Career

She is the director of Artists and Repertoire (A&R) for Mavin Global owned by Don Jazzy. She joined the recording label in 2018, while doubling as the Senior Advisor of investment company Kupanda Capital, with whom she has been since 2016. She has also worked for Tata Africa Holdings, Endeavor Energy Holdings, and Symbion Powers across the years.

Rima was a speaker at the 25th African Business Summit of the Harvard Business School held in March 2023. In 2022, she became a member of the Grammy Recording Academy.
