Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged newly appointed judges in the state to strive for excellent justice delivery.

The Governor also charged the judges to continue in the same spirit of hard work, sincerity, dedication and consistency that earned them their appointments.

Oborevwori gave the charge at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba while swearing in Hon. Justice Catherine Ngozi Ojubana-Oritsedere as the President of the Customary Court of Appeal and seven others as judges.

He congratulated the judges on their appointments, urging them to discharge their duties without fear or favour.

He noted that their new responsibilities required justice and fairness devoid of greed.

Responding on behalf of others, the President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Ojubana-Oritsedere, thanked the governor for finding them worthy to serve and promised their commitment to enhance justice service delivery in the state.

Judges sworn in include Hon. Justice Aforkeye Obomejero – High Court; Hon. Justice Samuel Ifeanyi Okeleke – High Court; Hon. Justice Godwin Aboyowa Umuko – High Court; and Hon. Justice Rita Ngozi Ossai – High Court;

Others are Hon. Justice Adolor Onobrieukuhapo – High Court; Hon. Justice Michael Emakpor Gbakeji – Customary Court of Appeal; and Hon. Justice Tracy Patricia Ifeanyi Uraih – Customary Court Of Appeal.

The judges subscribed to the necessary oath of office witnessed by the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme; Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; the Chief Judge of Delta State, Hon Justice Tessy Diai, and top government officials, families, friends and well-wishers of the newly sworn-in judges who came out in their numbers.
