The State Coordinator of National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Edo State, Amb. Ehanirhe Theodore Osas has disclosed
that 1,955 National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) members posted to Edo State would enjoy free medical care under the GIFSHIP-n program.

Ehanirhe stated this during a sensitization exercise held for the Corp members at their permanent orientation camp, Okada in Ovia North East LGA of Edo State.

In his presentation on the workings of the programme specially designed for Corp members and implemented through the National Health Insurance Authority in collaboration with the National Youth Service Corp, Ehanirhe remarked that eligibility for mobilized Corp members usually starts from the day of being mobilized, through the three weeks orientation period at the camp, then the period of their Place of Primary Assignment (PPA), till the weeks after their official Passing Out Parade.

A list of robust benefits packages was made known to the Corp members noting that the beautiful aspect of the GIFSHIP -n program is the non-payment of 10% Co-payment by Corp members, unlike other NHIA programmes.

Notably, Corp members are to also enjoy full payment exclusion of the programme by differential or full payment by the NYSC. It will also be noted that during their stay as Corp members, the females are entitled to one delivery with a full complement of antenatal and post-natal care with other and child covered.

Ehanirhe expressed special thanks to the DG/CEO NHIA, Prof M.N. Sambo, management of NYSC, and His Excellency the Edo State Governor for giving a conducive service environment for the Corp members, emphasizing that with the GIFSHIP -n programme, no Corp member is left behind.
