The newly elected Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia, has urged the council staff to put in their best to ensure effective service delivery as the council is set to launch Operation Clean Egor, a strategy for a healthy environment.

Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia made the assertion on assuming office on Monday, September 4, 2023, during the handing over ceremony which took place at the Local Government Secretariat as she took over the mantle of leadership from Dr. Osaheni Igbinigie who has been the acting Chairman.

In her remarks, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia affirmed that civil service is the engine room of Government, as such, civil servants should collaborate with the government in achieving its agenda of “Making Edo Great Again”, emphasizing that all hands should be on deck to give Egor people the dividends of democracy.

While the handing-over ceremony was going on, the legislative arm of the Local Government was being inaugurated, and the leader of the legislative arm, Mrs. Bosede Omokaro was presented to the Chairman by the clerk of the council, Mrs. Tracy Ben-musa.

The Chairman expressed gratitude as she was received with a warm welcome during her assessment tour to each office in the secretariat occasioned by accolades by the staff who said it was a homecoming for her knowing she is already familiar with the system.

Dr. Osaheni Igbinigie, who before now was the acting Chairman, thanked the newly elected Chairman and assured of staff maximum cooperation for effective service delivery.
