In his unwavering responsibility to strengthening primary healthcare, with defined transformative efforts and a resounding declaration of commitment to the welfare of its citizens, the Godwin Obaseki-led government is certain to revamp the long-neglected Obadan Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Uhunmwonde LGA.

This ambitious endeavor came to the fore during a visit by Dr. Omosigho Izedonmwen, the Executive Secretary, Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (EDSPHCDA) and Dr. Idemudia Osayomore, Director of Community and Family Health Services Department, EDSPHCDA.

Dr. Omosigho expressed gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Edo State, Dr. Mrs. Joan Oviawe for drawing attention to the state of the PHC, and also partnering with the Agency to ensure Obadan PHC would become a book club hub for the community.

Dr. Izedonmwen informed the Odionwere of Obadan community, His Royal Highness (HRM) Ahosegbamen that he and his team had come in response to the Governor’s directive to inspect the PHC and immediately kickstart its revival.

Dr. Omosigho urged the Odionwere to take ownership of the PHC once it is refurbished and healthcare services resume. He stressed that the PHC belongs to the community and should not be allowed to languish in disrepair. He also stressed that vandalisation of properties should be discouraged.
