Contrary to claims by the Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, that he did not get prior notification of his relocation to a new office, office relocation, a letter has emerged indicating that he was duly notified.

The letter, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, and dated September 15, 2023, shows that the deputy governor was notified that his office accommodation had been moved to No. 7, Dennis Osadebe Avenue, GRA, Benin City.

The letter was minuted on the same date, indicating that it was sent to the Office of the Deputy Governor on the same day.

“I write to inform you that His Excellency, the Governor has approved the relocation of your office accommodation to No. 7, Dennis Osadebe Avenue, GRA, Benin City,” the SSG said in the letter.

“You are therefore requested to ensure your compliance in line with Mr. Governor’s approval, please,” he said.

Deputy Governor Shaibu had on Monday said he was not notified of the relocation of his office.

In a video that surfaced online on Monday, Shaibu was seen standing by the gate of his former office and making frantic calls after he found that the gate to the office was under lock and key.
