President Bola Tinubu has firmly declared that Nigeria should never languish in poverty, given its abundant human and natural resources scattered throughout the nation.
In an official statement by his spokesperson, Chief Ajuri Ngelale in Abuja, President Tinubu made a commitment to the Nigerian people, promising that under his leadership, the nation’s resources would be effectively harnessed for the welfare of all citizens.
This resounding message was delivered during a meeting with a diverse 62-member delegation from Rivers State, comprising leaders from both the ruling All Progressives’ Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“We are not destined to endure poverty. We will change our fate! Somewhere amidst this storm, there’s a tranquil and prosperous place waiting for us. We will discover it! We are not a lethargic people; we are abundantly blessed. All we need is to support one another as brothers and sisters and be good neighbors. I am not a President who will offer excuses,” President Tinubu affirmed.
He further stated, “I will tirelessly dedicate myself to our nation with a clear sense of purpose, unwavering determination, and unswerving dedication to create prosperity for every Nigerian. We have no reason to remain in poverty! We will not look back; we will forge ahead with determination.”
President Tinubu acknowledged the challenges of the present but remained optimistic about the future, saying, “Today, we may be facing headwinds, but soon the waves will push us forward. We will achieve the aspirations and visions of our forefathers. I draw my inspiration from the remarkable people I now lead.”
Regarding infrastructure development in Rivers State, Tinubu assured the delegation that he had heard the concerns, particularly regarding the Eleme Junction-Onne axis of the East-West Road, which connects to the Port Harcourt Refinery. He mentioned that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who also serves as his adviser, would actively pursue this issue to ensure swift action.
President Tinubu’s leadership vision is centered on propelling Nigeria forward, unlocking its vast potential, and fulfilling the dreams of its founding fathers with unwavering determination and dedication.
