With the aim of providing high-quality healthcare services to Edo residents, the Executive Secretary, Edo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (EDSPHCDA), Dr. Omosigho Izedonmwen, and his team, on Thursday, 5th October 2023, conducted an onsite assessment of the Obadan Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) facility in Uhunmwonde LGA,

The onsite assessment which is in response to the directive of the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, is a critical step in the renovation of the Obadan PHC.

The assessment involved a comprehensive survey of the entire building and its surroundings including the staff quarters. The team was accompanied by an Architect, as well as Mrs. Jessica Iriaye, a representative from the Edo State Public Building and Maintenance Agency.

Mr. Imade Eremwanarue, the Ward Development Committee Chairman (WDC) of the Obadan Community played a pivotal role by providing invaluable insights and guidance throughout the visit.

The primary goal of the visit was to conduct a thorough assessment aimed at determining the requirements for the impending renovation. Dr. Izedonmwen stressed the importance of the initial assessment, emphasizing that it would lay the groundwork for an effective and well-informed renovation process.

During his discussions with the Ward Development Committee Chairman, Dr. Izedonmwen urged him to convey to the community the necessity of obtaining proper government permission before initiating any construction or renovation work at the PHC. This measure ensures that renovations are executed in an organized and standardized manner.

Furthermore, Dr. Izedonmwen articulated the broader vision for the Obadan PHC. He stated that “once the renovation is completed, the facility will be well-equipped to provide high-quality healthcare services to its residents.”
