The Executive Secretary, Edo State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Omosigho Izedonmwen, known for his hands-on approach and commitment to the improvement of primary healthcare, on Tuesday, embarked on an unannounced inspection visit to Ehor Primary Health Center in Uhunmwode Local Government Area, Edo State.

The Edo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (EDSPHCDA) Executive Secretary alongside his team”s surprised facility inspection visit to Ehor Primary Health Center, was a remarkable display of commitment to the cause of improved healthcare service delivery in Edo Primary PHCs.

The unannounced visit was a strategic move to assess the state of service delivery and to get an unfiltered view of the facility’s staff presence and performance.

Dr. Omosigho and his team were received by Dr. Courage Otoighile, the Medical Officer of Health, and Mrs. Josephine Osunde, the Head Nurse at the Facility.

The Executive Secretary went around the facility on a guided tour, and got a firsthand operational information from the line staff, management, clients and patients, on the day-to-day activities, including waiting time, quality of services rendered challenges and successes at Ehor PHC.

While speaking to Ehor PHC staff, Dr. Izedonmwen stated that he decided to carry out an unannounced visit because it will provide a unique opportunity for him to evaluate the health facility without any prior preparation on the part of staff and management to receive him, that way, ensuring a more accurate reflection of the facility’s real conditions.

He advised the staff to ensure they are on their duty post delivering essential healthcare services to Ehor community because the people deserve to be well served.

Dr. Izedonmwen further reiterated the Agency’s proactive approach and commitment to maintaining high standards in the delivery of health services across the state.
