The show, which was held on Saturday, 18 November 2023, saw Nigerian celebrities and fans travelling all the way to Atlanta, Georgia for the show.
The first edition of A.W.A.Y. Festival hosted by veteran comedian Bovi had performances from many Afrobeats artists including Adekunle Gold, MayorKun, Musa Keys, Spinall, Victony, King Promise, Lo Jay, E Cool, and TXC.
Before going on stage, Davido said it had been a long-time dream to have his own show done in Atlanta.
“ATLANTA! A.W.A.Y. Festival is here!” he tweeted.
“I’ve been dreaming of this moment for a long, long time. To never have played my own show in Atlanta and then have our first one be the festival I’m throwing at @StateFarmArena feels perfect to me. Let’s have a TIMELESS night we’ll never forget,” he said.
Davido performed most of his hit songs with fellow artistes.
The Are We African Yet? Festival is a one-day show conceived to promote and foster cultural exportation and collaboration between Africa and the world.
