The Ojuromi of Uromi, His Royal Highness, Anselm Eidenojie II, has conferred a chieftaincy title on Dr. Onoho’Omhen Onomuze’Egba Ebhohimhen for his commitment to community service.

Shortly after the conferment of the chieftaincy title at the Palace of the Ojuromi of Uromi at Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Dr. Ebhohimhen disclosed that he was excited to be called upon to support the development of his community, noting that this is a call for duty for the greatness and development of the land of his birth.

“I feel honored that Ojuromi has considered me one of the best talents to be called to serve the community of my birth. One major challenge I have found out in our community and many other communities in the country is the state of disorganization and the state of chaos in these communities.

“It is not too late to tackle such malaise and it is our duty and responsibility to place all our energy, all our knowledge, all our talents at the disposal of the land of our birth. There is one passion I am nursing and I hope I will obtain the approval of the traditional ruler of my town to work in order to reorganize and develop the town

“We must work for the development of our community, we certainly have to work for a better internal growth projection and have a trajectory that is sustainable, not only for this generation, but also for future generations, so that they have a town they are proud of. We are a great town of warriors, we are a great town of entrepreneurs, a great town of excellence and we should not regress,” he added.

Dr. Ebhohimhen’s dedication to the service of humanity did not go unnoticed in the eyes of the traditional ruler of Uromi, who decided to honour him with the chieftaincy title of the Ojietemon of Uromi.

Born into the lineage of Okoko in Idumun Okoko , Imiomuza community, Obinyon Uromi, Dr. Ebhohimhen’s journey has been a relentless pursuit of excellence, coupled with significant contributions to the community, leading research teams with cognate experience in public administration and mentorship of a substantial group

As a President of the Uromi Youth Movement between 1996 and 1998, he led a team that restored the movement to vibrant activities, conceptualized and began the projects to write a definitive history of Uromi and created the platform for the reward of excellence in service and professions for people of Uromi origin.

On the renewed quest for the creation of Afemesan State in 2009, HRH Anslem Eidenojie 11, the Ojuromi of Uromi directed Dr. Ebhohimhen to represent his interest in the commitee and one of the major tasks of the committee was to select a proposed state capital for Afemesan state.

The rigorous exercise was undertaken with visits to all the local government headquarters and in the end, Uromi emerged as the preferred host of the Afemesan State capital with 867 votes to Auchi’s 760 votes.
