The Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (EDSPHCDA) pulled out all the stops in a grand celebration titled “A Day Out with the ES” to mark the end of the year and also to celebrate partners and key stakeholders in the Primary Healthcare space.

The festivities kicked off on the 15th of December, 2023, at the Horatio Marque in GRA, Benin City, creating a spectacle that was nothing short of spectacular.

Approaching the event center, the ambiance exuded glamour, beauty, and class. The first carefully adorned backdrop outside featured the prominent EDSPHCDA logo, the second backdrop unveiled the EDSPHCDA Gallery World, a visual journey of pictures that speaks volumes of the Agency’s impactful programs and activities.

Inside the halls, a breathtaking scene greeted guests with meticulously arranged white chairs, beautifully adorned white draperies and exquisite decorations creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. As the clock struck 4pm, staff and guests began to arrive, adorning the green carpet in their elegant white attire, setting the tone for an evening of celebration.

The cultural richness of Edo was on full display, as the Edo cultural troupes entertained the guests with their delectable performance, adding a vibrant cultural touch to the event. There was no dull moment, as the DJ further elevated the mood, spinning dance-worthy tunes that kept the atmosphere lively and filled with joy.

The Executive Secretary, EDSPHCDA, Dr. Omosigho Izedonmwen took the stage to welcome the esteemed guests. Among them were EDSPHCDA Board of Directors, Commissioners, Heads of Agencies, Local Government Chairmen, Heads of Local Government, Contractors, Ward Development Committees (WDCs), Medical Officers of Health, Local Health Authorities, Representatives from Civil Societies, Partners, Representatives from Associations, Religious and Community Leaders, and the dedicated EDSPHCDA Staff and Management.

Dr. Izedonmwen expressed heartfelt gratitude for their collective efforts in advancing Primary Healthcare in Edo throughout 2023, looking ahead optimistically to a promising 2024.

A significant highlight of the celebration was the presentation of well-deserved awards to outstanding LGAs, staff, and communities. This recognition added an extra layer of significance to the joyous occasion.

The abundance of delicious food and drinks ensured that everyone could relish the culinary delights of the celebration. The festivities ended in a spirited dance session where everyone, including the Executive Secretary, danced with renewed enthusiasm, marking the culmination of the year with joy as they anticipate an even brighter future in 2024.
