Co-Creation Hub, a technology innovation center in Nigeria, is offering a $700,000 grant to Edo State tech start-ups. This investment is part of the Co-Creation Hub’s ongoing dedication to contributing to the growth of the tech ecosystem in Nigeria and beyond.

They announced the opening of the application process in a statement on Friday, 12th of January 2024, inviting start-ups to apply for this grant with thirty start-ups receiving $10,000 each as part of these programmes, and twenty receiving $20,000 each, a total of $700,000 investment in start-ups.

This programme, also backed up by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, emphasizes the CC Hub’s commitment to supporting the ecosystem for technology and encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation in partnership with the Edo State Government.

The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani highlighted two programmes providing investment support to the fifty start-ups: The Innovation Challenge Programme, which is open to diverse start-ups with female founders and teams, and The Inclusion-Focused Support Programme, which is open to all tech start-ups with creative and promising ideas that have the potential to succeed.

This investment in Edo State is a proof of the state’s dedication to supporting the growth of the tech sector in the state.The investment will help to create jobs, increase economic growth, and improve the quality of life for the residents of Edo State.

The state government has also set several policies and initiatives to appeal to tech companies and start-ups, which include the establishment of a tech park and the provision of tax incentives.
