…aspirant promises economic prosperity

The governorship aspiration of Dr. Asue Ighodalo, former Chairman of Sterling Bank Plc, got a major boost, on Monday, as leaders and caucus members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo Central Senatorial District assured of their 100 percent delegate votes ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for February 22, 2024.

The PDP members from across the five local government council areas in Edo Central Senatorial District, gave the assurance during the formal presentation of the frontline PDP guber aspirant Ighodalo by the Chairman of the Senatorial Chairman, Archbishop Anthony Okosun in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area, amid wide jubilations.

Speaking at the well-attended event, the National Leader of PDP and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi, said Asue Ighodalo, being a successful Esan son, has all the requirements to take the state to the next level in terms of good governance.

He asserted that it was time for the Edo Central Senatorial Zone to produce a governor, after Edo North and Edo South Senatorial Districts, have produced the State Governors in the last 16 years.

Ikimi described him as a peacemaker and unifier, reassuring that all the delegates in Esan land will give him 100% votes to emerge the candidate of the party.

Earlier in his remarks, Asue Ighodalo, expressed gratitude to the Senatorial leaders, caucus members and people of Esanland for his endorsement as their main aspirant for PDP primary election.

He promised more developments to the people of the State if given the mandate to govern Edo.

Speaking at Irrua in Esan Central Local government area, Barr. Ighodalo thanked the PDP leaders and Senatorial caucus for trusting him to lead Edo State.

Ighodalo said that if given the mandate to govern the state, his administration will be people-oriented and project-driven.

He added that he will continually seek advice from the elders, leaders and the people to move Edo State forward, adding that as a governor, his administration will focus on job creation, education and agricultural reforms to achieve desired results.

He, however, assured that he won’t disappoint the people if given the party ticket, just as he seeks their prayers to enable him to sail through all hurdles.

At Ekpoma in Esan West local government area, Ighodalo appealed for support towards clinching the party ticket, just as he promised the people good governance if elected as governor of Edo State.
