Edo citizens can be assured of a better deal come 2024 as a major front-runner for the gubernatorial race, Hon. Osaretin Ighile, has promised to improve the standard of living of the people when he clinches the governorship ticket under the platform of the Labour Party in February this year.

As the campaign trail of Osaretin Ighile commences the political sojourn aimed at crisscrossing the length and breadth of Edo State starting with his birthplace, Udo community in Ovia South West Local Government Area, Mr. Ighile promised to touch every corner of the state with positive impact.

In his visit to the Labour Party Secretariats, Igwobazuwa and Oluku in Ovia North East, Ighile promised an inclusive government that will ensure participation at all levels of government, noting that Edo is not just about Benin City. He appealed to LP delegates to ensure he emerges as the standard bearer of the party.

“I want to appeal to you to vote for me as the party flag bearer having been part of the formation. I will ensure all round development of the state,” Ighile said.

“I took a tour of Uromi town in Edo Central and I can confirm that it is just as big as Benin city with all the potentials for development and economic prosperity. I can pledge that I will ensure every city in Edo state is developed both in infrastructure and human capacity,” he said.

Speaking during his visit to the palace of the Iyase of Udo, HRH Patrick Ekhorutomwen Igbinidun, Mr. Ighile intimated the monarch that he has always been at the vanguard of innovation and invention given his spell in the United States as successful visual artist.
