The Chairman of Oredo Government Council, Dr. Tom Obaseki, is convinced that the proposed takeoff of the Oredo Online Services Platform on Wednesday, March 27, will promote transparency in governance and a residents-friendly experience.

The Council Chairman has emphasized that the Online Services Platform will be accessible 24/7 and eliminate indiscriminate, selective, and excessive billing.

Dr. Tom Obaseki gave the assurance at the pre-launch press conference on Monday, in Benin City, noting that the platform boasts a plethora of features tailored to meet the diverse needs of citizens and residents of Oredo, with some of its key functionalities including convenience, flexibility, and reliability.

He believes that the symbolic initiative is an automated and innovative service delivery platform initiated and executed by his administration, and will render various services to Oredo residents in a timely, seamless, and more efficient manner.

He said that the digital platform has also been designed to automate access to services in a way that anywhere in the world, citizens of Oredo can access multiple services including their Local Government Origin/Identification Certificates, Marriage Registration, Burial Permits, and other services remotely and from the comfort of their homes without being physically present.

The cutting-edge project pioneered by Dr. Tom Obaseki’s led administration is a digital environment, and is the first-ever revolutionized service delivery to residents of the Oredo, where people can communicate, share information, and collaborate.

It is perceived as the best in the history of the Local Government Councils in the state, with the sole aim of taking the lead in digitizing the process at the Local Government level making it more efficient and seamless.

Recall that in a similar feat, Dr. Obaseki in the penultimate week launched the first ever boxing craft, the Oredo Games 2024 event, heralding the future of the sports revolution in the new Oredo Government Council after 30 years since Oredo last produced world champions.

Oredo Local Government Area, a melting pot of diverse ethnic groups with a population of approximately 536,827 according to the 2006 census, is the most urbanized Local Government Area in Edo State.
