…commends Obaseki, declares support for Ighodalo

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Elder Patrick Oriekhoe, has called for unity in the party ahead of the September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election in the state.

He made the call on Friday while fielding questions from journalists in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

According to the Benin-born politician, no meaningful development will occur in a rancorous environment, hence the need for the two factions in the party to be united in order to be more formidable for the election.

“We cannot go into this election with a divided house as that will not augur well for our party, the PDP. We need to go into the election as a united house,” he said.
