… affirms capacity of youth engagement, talents’ showcase
Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Marvellous Godwins Omobayo, has said the Obaseki-led administration has done so much for the creative industry, which has engaged the youths to showcase their talents.
The Deputy Governor made the remarks when he played host to a delegation of Afenmai Film Makers Association of Nigeria (AFMA) led by its Chairman, Prince Mccliff Otobo.
Welcoming the AFMA delegation to his office, Omobayo stated that Governor Godwin Obaseki has invested huge resources in the film industry, to encourage the teeming youths maximise their talents.
While highlighting the importance of creative arts in human capacity development and nation building, he enjoined the delegation to translate their support to votes for Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, in the September 21 governorship election.
According to the Deputy Governor, ‘Asue Ighodalo understands the agility and strength of the youths and will consolidate on all youth-oriented programs and policies of the present administration, to further harness their talents.’
Earlier in his remarks, Chairman, Afenmai Film Makers Association of Nigeria, AFMA, Mccliff Otobo, congratulated the Deputy Governor on his appointment.
He said AFMA is a body registered in Edo North, which cuts across the district.
Otobo expressed gratitude for what government was currently doing to positively engage youths in the creative arts and film industry in the State.
He also expressed optimism that the Deputy Governor would use his good offices to address their plight by attracting government to replicate its achievements in the creative industry in Edo North.
He assured that members of AFMA would ensure that the legacies of Governor Godwin Obaseki are sustained.
