Chelsea’s attacking midfielder, Cole Palmer, has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2033.
The 22-year-old England forward, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City on September 1 last year, had an outstanding 2023-24 season, scoring 22 goals and contributing to 33 goals overall.
In total, Palmer recorded 25 goals and 15 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.
Palmer made the move from Manchester City last summer for an initial fee of £40 million, with an additional £2.5 million possible in add-ons.
This new contract extends Palmer’s previous deal at Stamford Bridge by two years, rewarding him for an impressive debut season. He is now committed to Chelsea on a nine-year deal with improved terms.
Palmer is also on the shortlist for the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards, which will be announced in Salford next week, and he secured the Premier League Young Player of the Season award for 2023-24.
The Blues will face Manchester City on the opening day of the Premier League season this Sunday.
