… as PDP campaign train lands Etsako West
As the September 21 Edo governorship election is fast approaching, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, campaign train on Tuesday landed in Auchi, the administrative headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event which attracted a large crowd of PDP supporters, Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Marvellous Godwins Omobayo, said the governorship election is between the forces of light and darkness, as the outcome would determine the next level of the State.
According to him, the people of the area have a huge stake in the election, while urging them to make the right decision of voting for Asue lghodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, who he described as the best candidates to consolidate on the good works of Governor Obaseki.
Omobayo noted that the people of Etsako West were too wise and intelligent, while appealing to them to cast their votes for the PDP, as the umbrella party means well for the overall development of Edo State.
He appreciated the leaders, members and supporters of PDP for turning out en-masse to attend the rally and urged them to translate their support to votes on election day.
The campaign rally attracted PDP bigwigs, including Governor Godwin Obaseki, governorship candidate, Asue lghodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, Edo State PDP Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, among others.
Highpoint of the rally was the formal defection of several members of the opposition parties to the PDP.
