Chairman, Senate Committee on Privatisation, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration in his economic policies to revive the nation’s economy for the good of Nigerians.
Kalu made the call in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.
Kalu acknowledged the economic challenges experienced by Nigerians and urged them to give President Tinubu more time to implement his administration economic reforms.
He expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s efforts to reposition the economy.
“The reformations going on now have never happened in the last sixty years, Kalu said.
“No president, no president as I’m telling you has the courage to do what president Tinubu is doing now.
“It’s about courage. The man is very courageous. In fact, if I’m the president, what he is doing now to reform the economy taking everything together I may not do it,” he said.
Kalu also appealed to President Tinubu and his economic team to quickly evolve immediate solutions to the suffering and hardship of Nigerians.
Reacting on the recent rumour of his death, Kalu said there was nothing wrong with him, but took permission from the Senate President to study at a particular university.
“There was nothing wrong with me, I took permission from the Senate President, about seven days before the Senate went on recess,” Kalu said.
“I went to the US for a little study in one of the universities.
”I paid for myself, not that anybody paid for me, I used the holiday period to do the courses in that university about democracy and the position of the economy.
”I didn’t even go for any medical or anything at all at all,” he said.
