… over 100 patients receive free eyeglasses
Demonstrating its service to communities and Edo people Edo, the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (EDSPHCDA) joined the rest of the world to celebrate Customer Service Week from Monday, October 7 through Friday, 11.
The theme for the year 2024 “Above and Beyond,” reflects the Agency’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services to its clients.
As part of the celebration, the Agency organized a free eye test, which took place at 3 Government Clinics namely Oluku Clinic, Aruogba Clinic, Ugbor Clinic, and the EDSPHCDA Headquarters on Friday, October 11.
The free general eye test featured vision screening, a health history review, as well as eye health talk. A total of 210 patients were attended to by Optometrist, Dr. Blessing Osula, with over 100 receiving free eyeglasses generously provided by the Agency.
The Executive Secretary, EDSPHCDA, Dr. Omosigho Izedonmwen, emphasized the importance of the event stating, “Our customers are the core of our services. As an Agency, we exist to serve them and improve their health and wellbeing”.
He also commended Dr. Blessing Osula for her dedication and professionalism in conducting detailed eye examinations and recommending free eyeglasses for patients.
Another highlight of the week was the dress code compliance challenge, which also ran from October 7, to 11. Staff members at the headquarters were encouraged to participate by following the designated dress code for Customer Service Week 2024.
The departments with the highest level of compliance were Planning, Research, and Statistics, Office of the Executive Secretary, and Community and Family Health Services.
A cash prize of ₦20,000 by the EDSPHCDA Quality and Compliance Consultant, Mrs. Lanre Babalola was provided to the 3 winning departments as a reward for their participation and compliance in the dress code competition, a source of motivation to the winners.
The cash prize was presented by the Director of Essential Drugs and Logistics, Pharmacist Valentine Eruaga and EDSPHCDA Human Resource Consultant, Mr. Johnny Usifo.
It was a fun-filled week of activities, thanks to EDSPHCDA, the Customer Service Week Committee, the dedicated health workers, the technical partner, the World Health Organization (WHO), and valued clients for a successful event.
