In a significant move to drive economic reforms, Honourable Minister of Finance Wale Edun welcomed Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite as the new Minister of State for Finance at a gathering in Abuja.
Dr. Uzoka-Anite, a medical doctor and financial analyst, brings her expertise to support ongoing economic initiatives under President Tinubu’s guidance.
As a seasoned banker and former Commissioner for Finance in Imo State, Dr. Uzoka-Anite’s experience in financial markets, risk management, and portfolio management will be instrumental in advancing the President’s mandate within the financial sector. Her appointment is a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to empowering women in key positions.
The meeting, attended by senior management, highlighted the ministry’s progress in economic reforms, including the establishment of a market-based foreign exchange rate and market-driven pricing for petroleum products.
Dr. Uzoka Anite expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and collaborate with HM Edun, thanking President Tinubu for entrusting her with this role.
Other notable attendees included Lydia Jafiya, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, and Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
