The Anonyete Royal Clan of Igarra has raised objections to an online publication by Ray Media, allegedly linked to the Eziezu family group, over what it termed as the misuse of the name and image of His Royal Highness (HRH) Sunday Azavoyan Otaru JP, the Oshemdase O’orenyi of Igarra.

The publication, dated- November 30, 2024, and signed by Okomayin Friday Ozigagu, Chairman of the Planning Committee, listed HRH as one of the awardees at an event described as the “2024 Anniversary of the Igarra/Akuku Traditional Council,” scheduled to take place on December 7, 2024, at the Royal Palace of the Otaru of Igarra.

In a statement issued by Comrade Oke Onoesheseri Oizamsi, Chairman of the Media and External Relations Committee of the Anonyete Royal Clan Worldwide, the clan categorically disassociated HRH Oshemdase O’orenyi of Igarra from the event, describing the claims as false, misleading, and a calculated attempt to exploit the reputation of HRH for selfish motives.

“The so-called ‘Igarra/Akuku Traditional Council’ lacks legitimacy and does not represent the Igarra people.

“It is a deceptive construct of the Eziezu family group, which has no authority to speak or act on behalf of the broader Igarra community,” the statement read.

The Anonyete Royal Clan stressed that HRH Oshemdase O’orenyi remains committed to preserving the unity, honor, and values of the Igarra people and will not be associated with any activity designed to misrepresent or diminish the integrity of his position.

Furthermore, the clan disclosed that its legal counsel, Barrister Topa Jatto, has formally petitioned law enforcement authorities, including the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in Zone 5 and the Area Commander in Igarra, to investigate and address the planned event.

“The clan is optimistic that the petition will receive the attention it deserves to prevent the further misuse of HRH Oshemdase O’orenyi’s name and reputation.

Any continued misrepresentation will be met with appropriate consequences,” the statement concluded.

The Anonyete Royal Clan reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the legacy and dignity of HRH Oshemdase O’orenyi and the Igarra community at large.
