The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of Hon. (Barr.) Oladele Bankole-Balogun as the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Board

This was disclosed in a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.

Hon. Bankole-Balogun, a distinguished professional and politician, was born in 1961 into the prominent Bankole Balogun family of Igarra, Akoko-Edo, Edo State. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Ibadan, an LLB in Law from the University of London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law, Store Street, London.

He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).

Hon. Bankole-Balogun’s professional career spans various sectors, including roles at Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Pfizer UK, Alphabet Group UK, and as Principal Partner at Oladele Bankole-Balogun & Co. He has also served as Federal Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission (2012–2015), representing Edo State.

Politically, he has been an aspirant and candidate for the Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and a key member of the APC Campaign Council for the 2024 Edo governorship elections.

The Governor also approved the nomination of three Executive Directors for the Board of Internal Revenue: Deacon Idiake Patrick Akhimien (representing Edo Central), Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo (representing Edo North), and Hon. Engr. Jackson Eribo (representing Edo South).

These appointments underscore the administration’s commitment to strengthening the state’s revenue-generation capacity and ensuring effective fiscal management.
