…As Security Agencies Intensify Search
By Staff Reporter
Security agencies have intensified efforts to locate an individual identified as Lucky, who has reportedly been under investigation and on the wanted lists since 2020.
According to eyewitness accounts, Lucky, an alleged homosexual, was sighted in parts of Nigeria in 2025 after a prolonged period of absence from the country. However, before security operatives could verify his presence or establish contact, he was said to have left the country again under unclear circumstances.
Security authorities had previously expressed interest in locating him for questioning to explain his involvement in connection with a same-sex relationship, though his movements have remained largely untraceable since the search commenced.
A senior security source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, confirmed that the latest reports of Lucky’s sighting are being taken seriously and are currently under investigation.
The source also noted that the case has generated strong reactions in some quarters, with certain views describing the alleged circumstances surrounding the investigation as culturally and morally unacceptable, while urging that such matters be addressed decisively within the framework of law and public order.
“We are following up on all credible leads provided by members of the public. Anyone with useful information is strongly encouraged to report to the nearest police station or security office,” the source stated.
Meanwhile, speaking to journalists in Benin City, a community elder, Pa Ogbebor, said some of the individuals previously arrested in related incidents were reportedly known within their neighbourhood, adding that the developments had caused concern among residents over changing social behaviour patterns.
