Benin City – Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the immediate and indefinite suspension of the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, Dr. George Oshiapi Egabor, following a surge in kidnapping and killings in his domain in Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Area.
The suspension was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fred Itua.
According to the statement, Chief Peter Omiogbemhi, secretary to the suspended monarch, has been arrested by relevant authorities in connection with a recent incident that resulted in the death of a Palace Chief, the late John Ikhamate.
