BENIN CITY – The Bridge Builders Initiative for Green Nigeria (BBIGN) has announced plans to host a South-South Summit in Benin City on August 23 as part of its mobilisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

State coordinator Hon. Oriaifoh Godwins said in a statement that the event would also feature the inauguration of the group’s state and South-South executives, alongside unveiling its grassroots mobilisation strategy in collaboration with Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo.

He said the group’s agenda aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiatives and Governor Okpebholo’s “New Edo Has Risen” vision, which, according to him, had rekindled hope and promoted development.

Godwins called for an aggressive membership drive, noting that “the larger the membership strength, the better for the group.”

National Director of Ethics, Rules and Protocols, Comrade Stanley Okpugie, described the summit as a litmus test for grassroots mobilisation for the APC-led governments, citing Tinubu’s “proactive measures” against insecurity and his economic recovery efforts.

Okpugie also commended Governor Okpebholo’s development strides in less than a year in office, calling them “uncommon rescue traits.”

The group congratulated APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawaye Yilwatda, on his elevation and birthday and pledged to abide by party policies to sustain national development.
