BENIN CITY – The Edo State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board has fixed Wednesday, May 6, and Thursday, May 7, 2026, for the final screening of intending pilgrims ahead of their departure to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir, the Board also announced that the exercise will include the distribution of pilgrims’ travel bags to all registered pilgrims across the state.

According to the schedule, intending pilgrims from Edo South Senatorial District are to appear on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Hajj Board office, 2/3 Ugomosun Street, off Dumez Road, Benin City, by 9:00 a.m.

Those from Edo Central and Edo North Senatorial Districts will undergo screening on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Irrua Central Mosque, opposite the Palace, and Arafat Mosque, Auchi, respectively.

Both sessions are scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m.

The Board stated that the final screening exercise is compulsory for all intending pilgrims, noting that it remains a key requirement for participation in the Hajj as well as for the processing and collection of e-Visas.

It urged all pilgrims to attend punctually and comply with the directives to avoid any disruption to their participation in the 2026 pilgrimage exercise.
