Benin: The Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, has commended fathers and responsible men for their sacrifices, guidance, and unwavering love in shaping families and society.

Agbebaku, in a statement issued on Sunday in Benin to commemorate Father’s Day, described fatherhood as more than just a title.

According to him, fatherhood is a sacred responsibility that demands strength, patience, discipline, compassion, and the courage to lead by example.

The speaker noted that fathers play vital roles in many households, working diligently to provide for their families, offer protection, nurture their children, and inspire future generations.

Agbebaku celebrated fathers in Edo and beyond for their invaluable contributions to family stability, community development, and nation-building.

He also urged the public to remember and honour deceased fathers, and prayed for the peaceful repose of their souls.

The speaker further called on all to embrace the virtues of integrity, responsibility, and love, which he described as hallmarks of genuine fatherhood.
