Party Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ovia South West Local Government Area, Emmanuel Ogbomo on Thursday inaugurated the APC Local Government Campaign Council at the Iguobazuwa Town Hall, harping on the need for committee members to hit the ground running, with the APC campaign message.
Piloting the affairs of the APC Campaign Council as its Director General (DG) and Chairman, Advisory Committee is Mr. Monday Aighobahi who promised to deliver on his mandate while the committee Secretary, Prof. Ikponmwonsa Omorodion pledged to do same.
The Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa emerged as a member of the Advisory Committee while Mr. Freeman Aghedo head’s the Publicity Committee.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Monday Okpebholo at the inauguration ceremony, Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa said the Monday Okpebholo led administration was rooting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the APC candidates.
He stated that with the official flag-off of campaigns in Ovia South West based on the inauguration of the APC campaign council, the APC he said, would be pushing for a ninety percent (90%) win in Ovia South West at the January 16, 2027 General Election.
Idahosa noted that by this arrangement, sub-committee members have the onerous duty of carrying out door to door campaigns for votes from the electorates resident in the 195 polling Units of the Local government area.
Idahosa who affirmed the existing unity amongst party members in the local government area pointed out that the APC believed in the “One man, one vote” mantra.
He nonetheless reminded on the fact that unlike previous times when those called to duty could afford to sleep on their oars with no visible contributions to show during the campaign process, the inauguration ceremony that just took place was a litmus test and a call to duty.
He mandated election canvassers to take the campaign message to the grassroots by mobilising eligible voters to come out to vote for the APC candidates on election day.
On an optimistic note, however, Idahosa declared, “We are expecting a huge number of votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC candidates in this local government.”
Members from 21 sub-committees got inaugurated into the APC Ovia South West campaign Council. They are to be supervised by the central Advisory Committee.
