The 2023/24 Premier League Season has highlighted a wealth of exceptional talents, and the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Premier League Team of the Year honours the very best players.
This year’s lineup showcases a perfect blend of defensive strength, midfield ingenuity, and attacking excellence.
Manchester City’s Phil Foden was named the Professional Footballers’ Association Players’ Player of the Year, while Chelsea’s Cole Palmer secured the Young Player of the Year Award at the PFA’s 51st anniversary ceremony in Salford.
Foden, a two-time Young Player winner, achieved a career-high with 19 league goals and eight assists throughout the season. He also shone in Europe, contributing five goals and three assists in just eight appearances during City’s Champions League campaign.
Already recognized as the Premier League Player of the Season and the FWA Footballer of the Year, Foden edged out teammates Erling Haaland and Rodri to claim the top honor, with Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, Chelsea’s Palmer, and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins rounding out the Top 6.
Palmer earned the Young Player award after an outstanding season for Chelsea, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists in the Premier League during the 2023/24 season. Only Erling Haaland scored more goals than the England international.
In addition, Manchester City and Jamaica’s Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Tottenham’s Grace Clinton were named the PFA Women’s Player of the Year and PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year, respectively, in awards voted on by their peers.
The PFA also continued its tradition of awarding individual player prizes for the Championship, League One, and League Two, a practice reintroduced last year in celebration of the association’s 50th anniversary.
