Operatives of the Zone 5 of the Nigeria Police Force in Benin City, the Edo State Capital has declared wanted, one Kifinu Momoh over his alleged involvement in the murder of Aliu Musa.

The Zone 5 Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO), DSP Fred Imuta, who stated this through a press release issued yesterday in Benin said that the Police declared Momoh wanted following a petition received from the father of the deceased, one Alhaji Aliu Shomi.

He revealed that the incident occurred in Iyakpi, Auchi, the administrative Headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State following a deadly clash between members of the Black Axe Supreme Eiye and other Confraternities.

The ZPPRO stated that trouble started on February 15, 2014 as the deceased, Aliu Musa was brutally murdered by suspected cults belonging to black axe confraternity.

It was revealed that the father of the deceased, Alhaji Shomi later accused Kifinu Momoh, of being responsible for the killing of his son.

The police image- maker maintained that all efforts made to invite the suspect to their office proved abortive as he alleged that Momoh escaped to unknown location apparently to evade arrest.

According to Imuta, consequently upon evasion of arrest, the Police then declared the suspects, Kifinu Momoh, wanted.

He called on members of the public with known location of the suspect to provide the information to the nearest Police Station.

Our crime correspondent gathered that Momoh was not the only person accused of killing Aliu Musa as one Umoru Lawal, now deceased was also fingered as suspect.

A source who pleaded anonymity for fear of being attacked said that the duo of Momoh and Lawal who he alleged to be close friends and belonging to the same Eiye Confraternity ran away from Iyakpi immediately after the murder of Aliu Musa.

However, the source disclosed that following his deportation from Holland in February, 2020, Umoru Lawal was allegedly murdered by suspected members of the black axe in what he described as a reprisal attack.
