The Federal Government has announced Friday, 6 June, and Monday, 9 June 2025, as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued on behalf of the government on Monday.

In the statement, the minister extended his felicitations to Muslims across Nigeria and the Diaspora, urging the faithful to continue to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and unwavering faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).

Tunji-Ojo further encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to offer prayers for the nation’s peace, unity, and prosperity.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing people-oriented reforms in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at placing Nigeria firmly on the path of development and progress.

He wished the Muslim Ummah a joyful Eid-el-Kabir celebration and called on all citizens to work collectively with the present administration to restore Nigeria’s status as a truly great nation.
