Edo State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, has hailed the Supreme Court’s ruling in favour of Governor Monday Okpebholo as a decisive victory for the people of Edo State and a clear break from the era of bad governance.

Speaking in Abuja shortly after the apex court dismissed the petition challenging the outcome of the Edo governorship election, Ohonbamu said the judgement affirms the will of the people as expressed at the polls and validates the declaration of Okpebholo as Governor by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“This is a moment of liberation for Edo people from those whose interest in governance was largely self-serving, leaving the citizens to endure untold hardship,” Ohonbamu stated.

“With this ruling, the people have been vindicated for choosing a visionary leader committed to restoring Edo’s pride and progress.”

Describing the verdict as a milestone, he noted that the Governor’s victory is a reflection of the public’s confidence in his capacity to transform the state. He urged all Edo citizens to unite behind the administration to ensure continued development and inclusive governance.

“The Governor is on a mission to prove that Edo has indeed risen. This is a clarion call to all to join hands with him and support the ‘Project SHINE’ agenda in building a stronger, more prosperous Edo State,” the Commissioner added
