High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has mourned the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a man of integrity and patriotic service.
The Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited and traditional titleholder of the Ijaw nation paid glowing tribute to the late president, whom he credited with initiating decisive action to safeguard Nigeria’s oil sector during turbulent times.
Tompolo noted that Buhari’s 2022 decision to engage Tantita Security Services to provide surveillance over key oil and gas infrastructure was a turning point in the country’s fight against crude oil theft and sabotage.
“President Buhari was not materialistic. He sought out men of goodwill, vision, and character to work with. His leadership was marked by discipline, self-contentment, and a genuine desire to serve,” he said.
He also praised the late president’s efforts toward national unity and peace, saying Buhari’s legacy would endure for generations.
Tompolo extended his condolences to the nation and to the bereaved family, praying for the peaceful repose of the former president’s soul.
