BENIN CITY – Edo State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, has said that Governor Monday Okpebholo’s leadership is reshaping the state’s political and development landscape, describing him as “the man of the people.”
Reacting to the overwhelming victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded by-elections, Ohonbamu said that the result showed a clear mandate by Edo people for change and renewal.
According to him, Governor Okpebholo’s administration has set itself apart from the past by embracing due process, accountability, and prudent management of state resources.
He noted that Okpebholo, fondly called Akpakomiza, is a grassroots leader who has consistently stood by the people and delivered on his promises.
He listed the administration’s achievements, including the massive road construction projects across the state, the revival of the civil service, renewed investment in health and education, agricultural programmes for food sufficiency, the rehabilitation of the New Edo Line, and the ongoing construction of Benin’s first flyover.
“Edo people can now feel the breeze of change sweeping across the state,” Ohonbamu said.
“The governor is steadfast and consistent, and his commitment has endeared him to all. His leadership is a collective effort that values political leaders and elder statesmen alike.”
The commissioner urged Edo people to rally behind the governor, warning that the spread of falsehood by remnants of the opposition would not derail the government’s vision.
“Praying for Governor Okpebholo’s success is praying for the survival of Edo people,” he said.
