Passengers on a New Edo Line bus were caught by surprise when Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, stopped their vehicle on the Auchi–Okene–Abuja highway to commend the driver for his exceptional road conduct.
The governor, who had been driving behind the bus, said he was impressed by the driver’s professionalism, adherence to safety rules and courteous behaviour.
In recognition of his conduct, Okpebholo instructed his aides to stop the bus and deliver his greetings to both the driver and passengers.
Gifts were presented to the driver and passengers, sparking jubilation when they discovered the governor’s identity.
The incident has been described as another example of Okpebholo’s people-focused leadership, which is marked by empathy and a personal touch.
