Edo State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, has said Governor Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, remain committed to delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
Ohonbamu, in a statement issued in Benin City, described as false the PDP’s allegations that the governor and his deputy had abandoned their duties.
He explained that both leaders were engaged in diplomatic and economic activities aimed at attracting long-term benefits to the state.
The commissioner also defended the nomination of commissioners and the provision of official SUVs for them, saying the appointments were strategic for governance, while the vehicles were a necessity given Edo’s security and road challenges.
“From his first week in office, Governor Okpebholo strengthened security by providing 300 motorcycles and operational vehicles to security agencies while reorganizing the Edo State Security Corps. The PDP should stop sounding like a broken record,” Ohonbamu stated.
He stressed that the administration was simultaneously pursuing road construction, workers’ welfare, and infrastructure development, urging stakeholders to support the government in addressing the state’s challenges.
