‎Kelechi Iheanacho spectacularly marked his Celtic debut, scoring a stoppage-time penalty to hand the Hoops a 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday.

‎The Nigerian forward, who joined the Scottish Premiership champions on a free transfer earlier this month, started the match on the bench before replacing Daizen Maeda in the 70th minute.

‎Maeda had opened the scoring for Celtic in the 55th minute, heading home inside the box after a precise cross from Marcelo Saracchi. Kilmarnock hit back through David Watson, whose powerful header from a corner left Kasper Schmeichel with no chance.

‎With the match heading for a draw, VAR awarded Celtic a late penalty for handball.

‎Iheanacho kept his composure, smashing the spot-kick into the top corner with the final kick of the game to secure all three points and preserve Celtic’s unbeaten start to the Premiership campaign.
