BENIN CITY – Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Monday said the first-ever flyover bridge in the state, currently under construction at Ramat Park, has reached 60 percent completion.

Okpebholo, who inspected the project in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, said the flyover reflects his administration’s commitment to deploying public funds prudently and effectively.

He noted that resources from the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda were being used to deliver projects that directly impact the lives of Edo people.

“This is the project we are doing with the money given to us by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It shows the Renewed Hope Agenda is working,” the governor said.

“We will continue to support the contractors and ensure quality delivery at record time. Edo people will see the difference between the PDP and APC, which is a progressive party.”

The governor, cheered by residents, traders and commuters along the route, also inspected Uteh Road, Palace Road and Upper Mission Extension, before arriving at Ramat Park.

He made stops to assess side drains and queried contractors on technical details.

Providing an update, the Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. Phoebe Bello-Williams, confirmed that the project, initially scheduled for 18 months, is now on course to be delivered in 14 months.

“They have completed one abutment and launched the beam on one side. Work on the retaining walls and access drains is ongoing, and pavement work will commence after the rainy season,” she said.

When completed, the Ramat Park Flyover will provide three lanes with shoulders and is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion, improve mobility, and boost the infrastructure profile of Benin City.
