BENIN CITY – The Edo State Government has renewed its commitment to tackling flood and erosion across the state with the appointment of Hon. Mohammed Bawa Okoyomoh as Chief Executive Officer of the Edo State Flood, Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (EdoFEWMA).
Speaking during a familiarization meeting with staff in Benin City, Okoyomoh pledged to sustain and expand interventions under Governor Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda to build safer and more resilient communities.
He assured that flood control efforts would reach all 18 local government areas, saying, “What Benin City enjoys is what the most remote community will enjoy. No area will be left behind.”
A former Managing Director of the Edo State Public Building and Maintenance Agency, Okoyomoh brings to the role a strong background in public service, environmental management and institutional reform.
He promised to prioritise staff welfare and teamwork to achieve the agency’s mandate of protecting lives and infrastructure from flooding and erosion.
