BADAGRY (LAGOS STATE) – The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, on Monday reaffirmed that the administration of President Bola Tinubu remains accountable to all Nigerians.

Akume stated this at the opening of the Mandatory Training Programme for Chief Executive Officers of Federal Government Parastatals and Agencies at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Topo, Badagry.

Represented by Prof. Simon Okoya of the University of Lagos, Akume said leadership in public service was about stewardship, accountability, and measurable impact.

“Every public officer holds office in trust for the people and must demonstrate integrity, transparency, and commitment to service,” he said.

He reminded CEOs of the eight presidential priorities under the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that each had been assigned Key Results Areas (KRAs) and executed performance contracts to ensure delivery.

Akume commended the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), led by Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, for its drive toward building an efficient and accountable civil service.

Walson-Jack said the two-week leadership training would strengthen the federal public service to be dependable and digitally empowered.

Prince Sesi Whingan, House of Representatives member representing Badagry Federal Constituency, described ASCON as the pride of Badagry and appealed for the completion of the second phase of the Badagry-Seme Expressway.

Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, emphasised that training enhances leadership, professionalism, and citizen-centred service delivery.

ASCON Director-General, Mrs. Funke Adepoju, said the programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda and the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2025 (FCSSIP-25), aimed at improving institutional leadership and accountability.
