BENIN CITY: Residents of Ikhueniro Community, Benin City, have commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for his swift response to the growing gully erosion threatening the area.

The Okaighele of the community, Chief Iyayi Odemwingie, spoke during an on-the-spot assessment of the erosion site by officials of the Edo State Flood, Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (EdoFEWMA), led by its Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Bawa Mohammed Okoyomoh.

Chief Odemwingie said the erosion posed serious risks to lives and property, praising the Governor’s prompt intervention and people-oriented leadership. He pledged the community’s continued support for the administration.

Responding, Hon. Okoyomoh assured residents that the government would ensure transparency, accountability and proper assessment in addressing the challenge, noting that the current administration marked a departure from years of neglect.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Eugene Utobor, also assured the community of urgent attention and urged residents to remain supportive of the administration.
