Benin city – Operatives of the Saint Saviour Division of the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has commenced investigation into the gruesome murder of one Mrs Augustine Onovughegor who was a strong voice against cultism and its related activities in the state.
Report from Police Extract obtained from the force crime diary by Newsmen revealed that one Pastor Samuel Efemena Onovughegor residing at No.9 Orhiomwobor street, opposite Tipper Garage junction, off saint saviour road in lkpoba/Okha Local Government Area,Ward 5 of Edo state made a complaint at the police station to the effect that on the 8th day of June,2015 at about 1400hrs that his wife Mrs Augustine Onovughegor who was a strong voice against cultism and its related activities was found on the pool of her blood while returning from the market.
The report further stated that the late House wife was later rushed to an undisclosed hospital where the doctor confirmed her death with her nine months old child who was with her as at the time she was attacked by the hoodlums
He added that himself and his late wife who were survived by three children namely, Divine Samuel,Destiny Samuel and Great Samuel are now at risk leaving in fear of being attacked by the assilants based on his late wife’s stand against the activities of cultism and its vices.
Flowing fromthe above, himself and his three children have decided to run away to an unknown destination for safety in order to avoid these unknown dreaded cultists from coming after them with the believe of killing them just as they have killed his wife, hence the reason for the report to the law enforcement agents.
This paper also have in good authority that some family members particularly the younger brother whose name was given as Henry Onovughegor was burnt to death as a result of trying to investigate the root cause and those behind his brother’s wife dead.
