The Edo State Government has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance, improving service delivery, and boosting administrative efficiency.

In a government announcement dated January 29, 2026 and signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government, Governor Monday Okpebholo approved the changes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance coordination and policy implementation across key sectors.

According to the statement, Vincent Osas Uwadiae, who served as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Lands and Housing as Commissioner. Yakubu Oshioreunua Musa, the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed Chief of Staff to the Governor. Gani Audu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, has been nominated to assume office as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

The reshuffle takes effect from January 30, 2026.

The statement added that the adjustments are strategic and intended to further strengthen coordination and effective governance in the state.
