Former Flying Eagles midfielder, Daniel Daga, who plies his trade with Molde Fc of Norway,  has won his appeal case and he has been found not guilty by seven appeal court judges that sat on the matter, reports.
Daga was initially found guilty of sexual misconduct in a case handled by three judges, of which two found him guilty of the allegation filed against him.
But in a dramatic twist of fate in his favour, the appeal court judges has discharged and acquited him of any crime.
A close associate of Daga said that justice has been done and it is a welcome relief.
“This is a welcome development. The earlier trial was made of three judges . Two of the judges found him guilty and he was sentenced to six months imprisonment,” the close associate said.
“We had to appeal. We went back to the trial court and showed reason the court must approve our appeal request.
“It was granted and fixed for 25th, 26th of June and the appeal was successful. The appeal court was made of seven judges and they all found him not guilty.
“Daniel Daga was then discharged and acquited of allegation of rape and any sexual misconduct.
“Another good thing with this favourable judgement, is that his club ( Molde) has asked him to join the team,” he affirmed.
